The Utah Jazz had talks with the Memphis Grizzlies regarding a trade that could send Ricky Rubio to the latter, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.
In exchange for Rubio, the Jazz could get Mike Conley. Rubio and Conley are the two players that might “headline” the trade, per Stein.
For a deal to be struck between the two teams, Utah should accomodate Conley’s $66 million contract. A big difference with Rubio’s $15 million deal.
Rubio averages 12.8 points, 6.1 assists and 3.4 rebounds over 28.6 minutes so far this season.
