The NBA announced Friday that Luka Doncic was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in January.
The Slovenian star garnered the award for the third consecutive month, joining Jay Vincent (three times in 1981-82) as the only rookies in Mavericks history to win the award three times. He is the first Dallas rookie to receive the honor in each of the first three months of the season.
Doncic became the first player in either conference to win the NBA Rookie of the Month award in each of the first three months of the season since Joel Embiid did it in the East in 2016-17.
