The Boston Celtics opened a great night for the city that finished with the New England Patriots winning the Super Bowl. Earlier Sunday, Brad Stevens‘ side grabbed a home win against the Oklahoma City Thunder snapping their opponents’ seven-game winning streak and extending their own to four.
Russell Westbrook did put up 22 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds for his sixth consecutive triple-double, but seemingly lost focus in the last seconds. He turned the ball over with 7.4 seconds to go when his team had the chance to retake the lead and a few seconds later didn’t hit the rim on a free throw condemning the Thunder to the loss.
Following the NBA 2018-19 Regular Season match, the 30-year-old American point guard said there was no one to blame but himself. “In a late game like that, I’ve got to take care of the ball. That’s on me” he admitted.
