Malcolm Delaney finished up his 2018-19 campaign with the Guangdong Southern Tigers with six games to go in the CBA Regular Season. With a post on Twitter, the 29-year-old American guard revealed his feelings on becoming a free agent noting that he appreciated the opportunity to get healthy and recapture his confidence.
He told Eurohoops he’s relishing his time at home underlining he is no hurry to sign with another team. Delaney added that he needed action in the Chinese league to recover his rhythm following his two NBA campaigns. In China he averaged 32 minutes per game with 19.4 points, 6.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
As a free agent, he’s considering his options for the rest of the 2018-19 season. Three European clubs have already contacted him, but a NBA return is still his priority. In any case, EuroLeague teams have a February 28th deadline on signing players for the rest of the campaign.
