Nikola Jokic was clutch on Tuesday. The Oklahoma City Thunder rallied from a 18-point deficit, but the 24-year-old Serb center sank eight points down the stretch including five free throws in the final minute to seal the “W” for the Denver Nuggets. He scored 36 points in 35 minutes with 7/18 inside the rainbow and 4/7 from three-point range.
He also dished ten assists for the twentieth time this season to become the second player after Wilt Chamberlain listed seven feet or taller to do so. However, he finished one rebound short from his thirteenth 2018-19 triple-double leading the Nuggets to their 3-0 lead over the Thunder in this season’s series between the Northwest organizations.
The Pepsi Center crowd got on its feet for MVP chants once again, but the Joker played down his chances following the Regular Season contest. “I think it’s funny to be honest. I think there is a better player than me that is going to win MVP. I was just trying to play good team basketball” he mentioned.
