The San Antonio Spurs and center Pau Gasol have agreed on a contract buyout and, as Adrian Wojnarowski reported, cleared the way for the six-time All-Star to join the Milwaukee Bucks.
“Pau Gasol is an exceptional individual and the ultimate professional,” said Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich. “We are grateful for his contributions on the court, in the locker room and in our community.”
On February it was reported from Spanish media that Gasol wanted to leave the team, however, the player denied that he wanted to force the Spurs to release him.
However, with him coming back from injury in December, the Spanish icon had a very limited role in the Spurs’ rotation and it was obvious that his time in San Antonio was running out, one way or another.
