Going down the stretch of the NBA 2018-19 Regular Season games tend to be even more exciting. The Dallas Mavericks will be spectators when the playoffs begin, but took it on themselves to upset the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Thursday. They nearly achieved their goal, but Nikola Jokic game-winning bucket handed the “W” to the hosts.
With just 5.8 seconds to go, Luka Doncic put the Texans in front with an emphatic dunk over two defenders. He was also fouled on the play and gained the opportunity to create a two-point lead, but missed his shot from the charity line. “I should have made that free throw. I feel like I let my team down” he admitted following the match.
The NBA rookie finished with a team-high 24 points making 10/23 from the field in 35 minutes. He also grabbed 11 boards, dished nine helpers and added a couple of steals to his tally. However the Mavericks dropped to 27-41 with their seventh consecutive defeat.
