Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was forced to sit out the two games against the L.A. Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers due to an ankle injury before returning to action to help his team beat the Miami Heat Friday (22/3). And as he said, he couldn’t stand missing a third game in a row.
“It’s always in the back of your head,” Giannis told reporters when asked about coming back while not fully recovered. “But at the end of the day, there are some injuries you got to fight through. Sometimes your team needs you out there. And I definitely want to be out there. I don’t think I ever missed three games in a row in my career. I didn’t want to do it. I don’t like missing games. It’s a pride thing. It’s an ego thing”
“I was definitely close to being 100 percent before this game,” Antetokounmpo added.
Giannis and Milwaukee face the Cavs at home Sunday. The Bucks will want to take payback from the 107-102 loss they suffered at Cleveland Wednesday.
