Despite Sergio Llull’s contract with Real Madrid that runs active until summer of 2021, the Houston Rockets don’t seem to have given up the effort to lure him overseas, as the Spanish guard’s manager tells NBA Spain.
“Since he was drafted, every summer (the Rockets) have tried to incorporate Sergio Llull, it happens every summer, they never stop trying to make him join the team “, tells Ernest Berenguer, manager of the player. “Daryl Morey and Gersson Rosas are those who have always conveyed their interest and desire for Llull to join Houston. Both are in constant contact and try to convince him“, the manager adds.
However, despite the constant rejections every summer, it does not mean that Llull has completely turned down the NBA option. It just has to be a prominent option.
“It is evident that he is a winner and a born leader, which is why the more prominence he has, the better for him. Maybe this is one of the reasons why he has not made the jump to the NBA, even though in Real Madrid he gains less money that he could make in Houston”, concludes Berenguer.
