The Chicago Bulls announced that Lauri Markkanen will miss the rest of the 2018-19 NBA Regular Season. The 21-year-old Finn forward experienced a rapid heart rate and fatigue during the away game against the Toronto Raptors, didn’t dress for the home game versus the Portland Trail Blazers and afterwards was shutdown by the Bulls.
Initial tests in Canada came back normal, but Markkanen will be further evaluated over the next two weeks. His team is already eliminated from the playoffs and as a precaution preferred to keep him out of action for the remainder of the season.
Markkanen also missed the first part of the 2018-19 Regular Season due to his shoulder injury. He got back on track and averaged 18.7 points and 9 rebounds per contest before experiencing extreme fatigue.
