Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka started alongside each other with Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam out of the lineup. The European big duo proved more than enough for the away victory against the Chicago Bulls. “When a great player and really important player sit out, somebody else has to pick up those shots, the defensive intensity. We’re all NBA players and we all work together, obviously” Gasol said.
Ibaka, 29, finished with 23 points and 12 boards. Gasol, 34, added 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Raptors notched their third consecutive win. The Canadian organization is now 3.5 wins behind the Eastern Conference leaders, Milwaukee Bucks.
