Veteran NBA player Jared Dudley criticized Barcelona for not using Tyrese Rice and Rodions Kurucs last season.
“Crazy thing is Barcelona paid this man not to play last year,” Dudley wrote in the first part of a retweet regarding Rice’s clutch floater in Game 2 of the Basketball Champions League quarterfinals between Brose Bamberg and AEK Athens. Thanks to this basket, Bamberg won the series with an aggregate score of 138 – 136 and advanced in the competition’s Final Four.
Rice was under contract with Barcelona in 2017-2018 but never a member of the team’s active roster.
Dudley also commented on his Brooklyn Nets teammate and former Barcelona forward Kurucs. “He couldn’t even get on the court,” Dudley wrote and added a facepalm emoji. Kurucs has been averaging 8.4 points and 3.8 rebounds over 20.4 minutes in his rookie season in the NBA. The Latvian player played a combined number of 47 minutes in ACB and EuroLeague during 2017-2018.
