The Milwaukee Bucks have already clinched home-court advantage throughout the 2019 NBA Playoffs, but nevertheless added on their spectacular 2018-19 campaign on Sunday. The Wisconsin organization beat the Atlanta Hawks at home to clinch its first 60-win season since 1981. “Six years ago, my first year here, we won 15 games, Now, we have four times that amount. It’s big” Giannis Antetokounmpo said.
The Greek Freak added: “Our goal coming into the season was to get 60 wins. You definitely have to appreciate every moment because it’s pretty special. Now, we have to refocus and look forward to the playoffs, It’s important to get better every day. We will do whatever it takes to achieve our goal.”
Antetokounmpo, 24, returned to action with 30 points. He made 10/15 from the field, also tallied nine rebounds, three dimes, three blocks and one steal in 25 minutes. Before the game, he received the 2018 Euroscar European Basketball Player of the Year award and afterwards had no problem showcasing his dunking skills with a poster jam over fellow European, Alex Len.
In spite of the above, Len, 25, had a career-night at the Fiserv Forum. He scored a career-high 33 points sinking a personal-best six shots beyond the arc. Following the Regular Season contest he said: “After I made like three or four, they were still letting me shoot threes. My teammates found me on open shots and I knocked them down.”
