Nikola Jokic finished with 22 points, eight boards and seven dimes on Thursday, but the Denver Nuggets lost to the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center. The home team created separation in the fourth quarter paving the way for the 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series of the 2019 NBA playoffs opening round.
“We had some good defensive possessions, but they got offensive rebounds” the Joker said after the contest and added: “They are doing a good job of attacking the paint. They were living in our paint. I think it’s not just smalls, it’s our bigs, too. I think we all need to be more disciplined and more focused.”
The Nuggets came back in Game 2 to knot the series and the 24-year-old Serbian big hopes for a similar response in Game 4: “We need to watch film. Every playoffs game is must-win. They attacked us in the first game and we came back in the second. We need to be aggressive and physical, don’t let them be so comfortable.”
