After averaging 12.7 points, 6.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds in the NBA 2018-19 Regular Season and capping off his campaign with 15.4 points, 8.6 dimes and 3.2 boards per match in the playoffs series versus the Houston Rockets, Ricky Rubio will become a free agent in July. Talking to media representatives after the end of the season he admitted he doesn’t know what the future holds and acknowledged trade rumors surrounding him during the season were tough to deal with.

“Yeah, I’m not gonna lie. It hurt. I have feelings” the 28-year-old Spaniard point guard said and added: “It’s a business here, and you understand that. It feels uncomfortable. A player like me, you play with heart. It’s tough to play with heart when you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

On his future: “A lot of friends have asked me, ‘Yo, where are you gonna play next year? Can I come visit?’ I honestly have no idea. It depends on a lot of things. I’m gonna look for the best situation for me with the coach and the team. I want to be happy.”

On the playoffs: “I gave it all, all I had. Could I have played better? Yeah. But I finished the season with everything I had. This series, we could have won it. That’s why I’m so disappointed. We had what we needed to win. I don’t know why we didn’t show it from the beginning.”

Rubio also pointed out: “I’ve learned a lot here. The coaching staff they’re in on every detail. It’s like watching a master perform. I learned a lot. I couldn’t ask for more.”
