Luka Doncic’s mom Mirjam Poterbin traveled to Croatia using the opportunity to visit the Drazen Petrovic Memorial Center and gift her son’s jersey along with Dirk Nowitzki’s to the late player’s mom Biserka Petrovic.
Drazen Petrovic has had an enormous influence on the basketball world and especially on the European youth. He has been one of Doncic’s role models and this isn’t the first time for Luka’s jersey to end up in the Museum. His Real Madrid EuroLeague Final Four jersey is already exhibited there next to Goran Dragic’s – who chose to wear number 3 on his back just as Petrovic did.
Nowitzki also held Drazen in high regard and mentioned more than once his gratitude for Croatian player’s work which paved the way for him and following generations.
