The Cleveland Cavaliers General Manager Koby Altman was in Lithuania for the past few days and watched the EuroLeague playoffs Game 4 between Zalgiris Kaunas and Fenerbahce Beko: “It is wonderful to be in this arena. The atmosphere here is incredible. Do we want something from Zalgiris? I can’t reveal (smiles). Maybe. We will look at what we can do,” Altman told a reporter.
According to Delfi, Altman was there to talk with Zalgiris coach Sarunas Jasikevicius and the two have been talking for some time.
The Cavaliers head coach position has been vacant since parting ways with Larry Drew two weeks ago. However, the Kaunas-born coach stressed that he has a very good relationship with everybody in Zalgiris and that it would take ‘something miraculous‘ for him to leave:
“I always say that it will be hard getting me out of here. May need to kick me through the door with both legs, unless it’s something miraculous. A coach’s life is definitely not easy and I realized during the short time I coached. For me as a coach it’s very important how the people around me support me”, he said.
Meanwhile, according to “The Athletic“, J.B. Bickerstaff is also a candidate for the job.
