Similar to Game 2, the Golden State Warriors overcame a large deficit to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers. Saturday’s 110-99 victory at the Moda Center brought them a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals best-of-seven series.
Stephen Curry dropped a game-high 36 points including six triples. Draymond Green notched a 20-point, 13-rebound, 12-assist triple-double and Klay Thompson added 19 points. Swede Jonas Jerebko had two points, three boards and one helper in nine minutes.
The Warriors trailed most of Game 3, even fell in a 15-point hole at halftime, but took control down the stretch building a double-digit lead during the final period. Both Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins remained sidelined, but weren’t needed for the “W”.
Jusuf Nurkic was out for the hosts. Enes Kanter lost his starting job and only played seven minutes, but posted seven points and five rebounds. CJ McCollum finished with a team-high 23 points, Damian Lillard scored 19 and Meyers Leonard followed with 16.
No team in NBA Playoffs history has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit. However, the Blazers will give it a go starting on Monday through Game 4, which will be again take place at Portland.
