The Portland Trail Blazers were swept by the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, but Enes Kanter remains extremely satisfied on his decision to join the Oregon organization last February. “I’ve been in the league eight years. Signing here is probably the best thing that’s ever happened in my career” he said during his exit interview, Bleacher Report’s Sean Highkin relays.
However, the 27-year-old center will become a free agent in July. Asked about his free agency, he replied: “The most important thing I value is winning” and added: “It’s not even a question how much I love this entire organization and my teammates. It’s been a family to me.”
Kanter’s future with the Blazers might be up in the air, but the same can’t be said for head coach Terry Stotts. A few hours after the team’s elimination from the 2019 NBA Playoffs, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reported that the 61-year-old American agreed to terms on a multiyear contract extension.
