The Toronto Raptors took a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals best-of-seven series versus the Golden State Warriors with the home victory on Thursday. Marc Gasol helped out with 20 points, seven boards, two steals, one block and one helper in 30 minutes.
The 34-year-old Spaniard center made 4/6 inside the rainbow and added two triples to his tally. When asked about his offensive options after Game 1, he replied: “If you’re open, you’re going to shoot.”
His first NBA Finals appearance didn’t affect his usual routine before nor during the contest. “My brain doesn’t function that way” he mentioned and added: “You go out there to play basketball.”
“We can still improve in some areas, moving and spacing, but overall I believe we did a good job” he said commenting on Game 1 and followed up:“They did a good job of finding me in the post.”
