Dirk Nowitzki played the entirety of his 21-year NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks. He became the face of the franchise and led them to the first title in the history of the club in 2011.
Now, he gets to have a street named after him.
According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, the city of Dallas has approved the renaming of a street to “Nowitzki Way”. The street is near the American Airlines Center, home of the Mavericks. The place where Nowitzki spent the majority of his life so far.
Nowitzki retired from professional basketball this season at 40 years of age as a 14-time NBA All-Star, four-time NBA First Team selection, league MVP in 2007 and Finals MVP in 2011.
