The Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics and the New Orleans Pelicans have been engaged in trade talks on All-NBA star Anthony Davis, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Lakers’ No. 4 pick has been discussed as a trade chip to help the Pelicans acquire a high-level player in multi-team deals.
Boston hasn’t been discouraged in pursuing Davis despite his agent, Rich Paul, insisting the player wouldn’t be willing to stay there past next season. For the Celtics, Davis could still be the best way to keep Kyrie Irving.
It should also be clarified that the Celtics and the Lakers are both trying to negotiate independent deals with the Pelicans for Davis. The Lakers’ No. 4 pick would be used to acquire Davis in a multi-team deal that does not include Boston.
