Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciuns will look to decline the 2019-2020 option ($17.6M) of his contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in order to become a free agent according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Valanciunas wants to stay with the Grizzlies, albeit with a new deal that he will be able to negotiate once he becomes a free agent. The 27-year-old big guy joined Memphis following a trade with the Toronto Raptors in March. The exchange also sent Spanish center Marc Gasol to Toronto.
In 19 games with the Grizzlies, Valanciunas averaged 19.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists and 1.6 blocks over 27.7 minutes.
