Ricky Rubio will be a top target of the Indiana Pacers, according to The Ringer. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, the Utah Jazz have let him know he will not be a priority for them, but the Pacers seem ready to bid for the 28-year-old Spaniard point guard.
The Indiana organization hopes Rubio can complement Victor Oladipo with his playmaking and defensive abilities. However, the report notes the Pacers are also in discussions for the fourth pick in the 2019 NBA draft and potentially obtaining it from the New Orleans Pelicans might adjust their approach to free agency.
Rubio marked his eight NBA campaign averaging 12.7 points, 6,1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per Regular Season contest. He also had 15.4 points, 8.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 steals per match in five Playoffs appearances.
