French forward Sekou Doumbouya became the first European player to get picked in the 2019 NBA Draft. The 18-year-old player was selected with the 15th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons while he was projected as a lottery pick by mock Drafts.
Doumbouya finished the first professional season of his career in France with historic club Limoges CSP. He averaged 6.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14:53 minutes in EuroCup plus 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds in 19.0 minutes in the French League.
Among Doumbouya’s strengths are his superb physical skills, length, explosiveness, and athleticism. He is considered a defensively versatile forward with major offensive upside if he improves his game perception, especially in 5 vs. 5.
