Croatian forward Luka Samanic was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 19th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Samanic, 19, finished the season with Slovenian club Petrol Olimpija. He had 8.2 points, 5.0 rebounds in 19.4 in the Basketball Champions League while in ABA League, he averaged 6.4 points, 3.9 rebounds in 15.4 minutes.
In 2017, Samanic led the Croatian national team to the gold medal in the U18 European Championship B. He was named MVP of the tournament.
Samanic has said that his role model is Croatian legend and former three-time NBA champion Toni Kukoc.
