Giannis Antetokounmpo claimed the 2018-19 MVP honors on Monday and thanked God, his teammates, the coaching staff of the Milwaukee Bucks, his brothers, his mother, the fans, his agents and got even more emotional when talking about his father. “My dad is not here with me” he noted on Charles Antetokounmpo that passed away in 2017.
“Two years ago I had this goal in my head, that I was going to be the best player in the league. I am going to do everything it takes to help my team win and I am going to win the MVP. Every day I step on the floor, I always think about my dad. That motivated me and pushed me to play harder” Antetokounmpo added full in tears.
In conclusion, the Greek Freak underlined that his quest for glory doesn’t end with the MVP award. “This is the beginning. My goal is to win the championship” he said.
