Ricky Rubio will continue his career with the Phoenix Suns. The player’s agent, Jeff Schwartz, said that the Spanish guard has agreed to a three-year, $51 million deal with Phoenix, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
After he completed the season with the Utah Jazz, Rubio mentioned that he doesn’t think he’ll remain in Salt Lake City. One reason for this was the reported interest the Jazz had to trade Rubio in February.
Rubio said that these trade rumors had affected him and made him second-think staying with the Jazz. The 28-year-old guard also stated that he would like to sign with a contender since this is the most crucial contract of his career.
In 2018-2019, Rubio averaged 12.7 points, 6.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds in the 68 matches of the regular season, plus 15.4 points, 8.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds in five playoff games against the Houston Rockets.
