Mario Hezonja will sign a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Croatian forward has agreed to a one-year minimum deal with the Blazers, his agent, Michael Tellem, told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Near the end of the season, Hezonja had said that he wanted to stay with the New York Knicks and that all he needed was a phone call from club owner Jim Dolan. After spending one season in New York, Hezonja will now move to Portland.
Hezonja, 24, averaged 8.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20.8 minutes over 51 games in 2018-2019. It was the player’s third season in the NBA.
