Players will have an additional reason to further their careers in the G League. The 2019 Winter Showcase will include a $100,000 prize for the winning team. The NBA announced the insertion of the winner’s purse to the annual mid-season tournament on Wednesday.
The press release notes that all 28 G League sides will be ranked depending on their first 12 results. The top four seeds will compete in the championship bracket for the lucrative prize.
The 2019 Winter Showcase will take place between December 19th and 22nd at Las Vegas. All 28 teams will play two games under the new format.
