The Utah Jazz rested Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell among others in their 2019 NBA preseason opener, but still routed the Adelaide 36ers, 133-81, at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Saturday evening. Newcomer Bojan Bogdanovic was on hand for 10 points including a couple of threes, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal in 20 minutes of friendly work.
The Orlando Magic defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 125-89, at the AT&T Center. Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier contributed with a total of 13 points, 7 and 6 respectively, the former also tallied 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. For the losing side Jakob Poeltl posted 4 points and Luka Samanic 3, while Marco Belinelli was out.
In other friendly action, the Los Angeles Lakers took down the Golden State Warriors, 123-101, at the Chase Center. Anthony Davis led the way with a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double. Lakers’ Kostas Antetokounmpo was sidelined with a right ankle sprain. A right ankle injury kept out Serbian Alen Smailagic of the hosts as well.
Earlier Saturday at Mumbai, the Indiana Pacers doubled their wins at the NSCI Dome with a 130-106 victory versus the Sacramento Kings. Domantas Sabonis had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, Naz Mitrou-Long added one board and Goga Bitadze remained out with a right ankle sprain. Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 8 points and Nemanja Bjelica 5 from the bench for the Kings.
