The Toronto Raptors and Kyle Lowry have agreed on a one-year, $31 million dollars contract extension, per ESPN. The 33-year-old American point guard is already under $33.3 million dollars contract for the upcoming 2019-20 season, the deal guarantees him a contract for the 2020-21 season as well.
The Raptors are coming off their first NBA championship, but could not retain Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. This won’t be the case with Lowry, at least not until the summer of 2021.
The Villanova alum posted 14.2 points, 8.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per regular season appearance last season. He followed up with 15 points, 6.6 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per playoffs contest.
