Kevin Durant visited Serge Ibaka’s show “How hungry are you” and despite the light tone, he made a statement that is flattering both to FC Barcelona and the Turkish Airlines Euroleague.
When asked by Ibaka if he would consider playing in Europe, Durant gave the following answer: “I really want to play overseas my last season. At Barcelona. I would, one of these days. That’s the second-best league in the world. EuroLeague games look fun. I don’t know for a fact if I’ll do it, it’s just me sitting on a couch, dreaming but it would be cool to experience it.”
Barcelona was planning for years a possible return of Pau Gasol in Europe, a scenario that seems improbable at this point, and also flirted with the idea of luring Kobe Bryant, according to Spanish reports.
This summer Barcelona made the biggest signing in the EuroLeague by getting Nikola Mirotic back from the NBA.
Βoth the club and local star Alex Abrines reacted to Durant’s statement last night and most of his teammates followed with their own tweets, including Nikola Mirotic who practically invites Durant to Barcelona.
