Rubio and Booker with 40 points led the Suns over the Sixers

Devin Booker scored 40 points, Spaniard Ricky Rubio added 21 points and 10 assists for the Suns, in a 114-109 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Phoenix (5-2) continued its run as one of the most surprising teams in the NBA, knocking off the previously undefeated 76ers, who played without star center Joel Embiid because of his two-game suspension for an altercation with Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns on Oct. 30.

Phoenix is on a three-game winning streak and off to its best seven-game start since 2013.

In Minnesota, after a delay of 50 minutes due to a basket issue, Greek star Giannis Antetokounmpo had 34 points and 15 rebounds as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 134-106 on Monday night.

Antetokounmpo, the reigning NBA MVP, has posted a double-double in all seven games this season.

Also, the Wizards beat the Pistons 115-99 with German Mo Wagner adding 12 points and the Nets prevailed over the Pelicans 135-125 with Italian Nicolo Melli registering a DNP.

The Rockets without Russell Westbrook got the 107-100 over the Grizzlies as Swiss Clint Capela (10 p. 13 r.) and Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas (10 p. 10 r.) exchanged double-doubles and the Warriors despite their woes beat the Blazers (127-118) who got 11 points by Croatian Mario Hezonja.
