There weren’t any spectacular performances by European players in the NBA games that took place on Tuesday (2/11) night. A couple of them did help their teams get wins and there were also some personal records in store for some.
Like Daniel Theis, who blocked Cleveland Cavaliers players five times for a new career-high and also grabbed nine rebounds apart from scoring five points to help the Boston Celtics get a 119 – 113 away win.
It was a big night for Gordon Hayward who tied his career-high 39 points to lead Boston to its fifth straight win.
Cedi Osman had 12 points (4/13 shots) and five rebounds for the Cavs that have lost in three matches in a row and are 2 -5.
Speaking of individual records, Goga Bitadze had his best rebounding performance in the NBA yet by capturing 11 boards in the Indiana Pacers‘ 122-120 loss to the Devonte Graham-led (35 points, six assists) Charlotte Hornets.
Bitadze also scored six points and dished out four assists in the 32 minutes he spent on the floor in his second consecutive game as a starter. Indiana was +15 (a team-high) with the Georgian big man on the court.
Willy Hernangomez was a DNP for Charlotte.
Danilo Gallinari dropped 16 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder downed the Orlando Magic 102 – 94. Nikola Vucevic had 10 points plus 11 rebounds and Evan Fournier faced shooting struggles (0/7) while finishing with four points and five boards for Orlando.
Dennis Schroder also had problems connecting to the basket and shot 2/11 en route to scoring five for the Thunder.
In Denver, Nikola Jokic posted nine points, five assists, and five rebounds as the Nuggets beat Goran Dragic’s Miami Heat 109 – 89 to improve to 5-2. Dragic finished with nine points and seven assists for the Heat that are now 5-2 as well.
Juancho Hernangomez stepped on the court for two minutes and collected one rebound.
