A 35-point triple-double, his second for the week, has made Luka Doncic the epicenter of attention while shutting down critics in the best fashion. As if that wasn’t enough, he broke the record for the fastest triple-double of this extend in 25 minutes.
“Look, he’s a very special player on a special roll,” Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said after the victory against Golden State Warriors. “There’s not much else to say. This isn’t a big news flash now. This is getting to be pretty normal.”
It was Doncic’s seventh triple-double of the season, while he currently averages 29.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 9.4 assists across 14 games.
And his ability to set new records keeps on. During the first quarter against the Warriors, he had 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists, becoming the first player to post more points, rebounds and assists than the opposing squad in one period since the Philadelphia 76ers‘ Allen Iverson did on Feb. 19, 2003, vs. the Bulls. Pretty impressive.
