Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic hurt his right ankle less than two minutes into the game against Miami Heat. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Slovenian point forward suffered a moderate ankle sprain.
Doncic lost control of the ball and then began limping, exiting the floor. The x-rays turned back negative, Dallas announced later.
He was coming into the game averaging 30.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.3 assists.
With their top player out, the Mavericks fell behind by 23 points at halftime but came back and took the lead in the fourth period. The Heat forced overtime and then won the match 122 – 118 in the extra period, behind Jimmy Butler’s 27 points.
Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Mavericks. German forward Maxi Kleber dropped 17 points.
