Wins all the way through the five-game homestand for the Denver Nuggets with Nikola Jokic inserting a finishing note in the form of a triple-double. Fifth triple-double of the 2019-20 NBA Regular Season and 33rd overall for the Serbian center with 22 points, ten assists and ten boards against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday evening.
He moved into a tie for 10th place in the all-time list of players with the most triple-doubles. His 33rd brought him alongside Bob Cousy. The other members of the Top 10 are Oscar Robertson (181), Russell Westbrook (144), Magic Johnson (138), Jason Kidd (107), LeBron James (88), Wilt Chamberlain (78), Larry Bird (59), Fat Lever (43) and James Harden (42). “It’s nice of course just to be in that company” he mentioned.
It’s now a stretch of eight double-doubles in a row for Jokic including a couple of triple-doubles in that span. With the Nuggets pushing for the best possible playoffs seeding, the Joker is coming into play with his established influence of the game. He is nearly posting 20 points per game in December, way over his averages in October and November, also has 9.7 rebounds and 8 assists per contest this month.
