Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has considerably increased his number of 3-pointers this season. In fact, more than one in every four attempts the reigning MVP takes are from beyond the arc.

According to Basketball Reference, 25.7% of Antetokounmpo’s field goal attempts are 3-pointers. This percentage is the highest for the “Greek Freak” since his rookie season in 2013 – 2014.

Giannis had finished his debut campaign in the NBA by taking 118 3-point attempts out that made a 28.2% of his total of 418 shots overall. The next season, the percentage greatly decreased to 0.56% since the Bucks star attempted 118 3-pointers and a total of 418 shots from the field.

This season so far, Antetokounmpo has taken 181 3-pointers and 705 shots. He’s drained 59 triples for 32.9%, his best number since the 34.7% he completed his rookie season with.

On December 12, Giannis had a career-best five 3-pointers out of eight attempts in an 11-104 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Jay Williams commented that if Giannis consistently continues hitting triples, he’s “hands down by far the best player in the world.”

Giannis is averaging 30.2 points, 12.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists in the 2019-2020 season so far. The Bucks have the best record in the NBA at 32-6.
