Following in the footsteps of his father and also using the experience and knowledge shared by Peja Stojakovic, young upstart Andrej Stojakovic committed to Stanford in November. The upward trend continued being later selected to play in the 2023 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game.
Stojakovic, 18, is confident in overpowering his dad in a one-on-one matchup. He debated a potential win in a press conference shared by Swish Cultures. However, he would need to keep Peja from warming up. Things would get worse in a shooting contest.
“Now, I would win. He can’t move like he used to,” he replied jokingly following the McDonald’s All-American Game in Houston last week, “But I don’t know. A certain score, maybe, 11-3 or 11-4. He can still shoot it. The key is not to give him a warm-up shot. If he doesn’t get a warmup shot, I am good.”
“What’s more competitive is a shooting contest. That’s where it gets tricky. Because he can get hot and you might have to go perfect the next round to beat him,” added the young shooting guard.
Peja Stojakovic enjoyed a lengthy NBA career coming in from Europe in 1998. His oldest son, eligible to represent Greece and Serbia at the international level, faces a huge challenge to match a three-time NBA All-Star but is undoubtedly on the right path.
The younger Stojakovic went into learning and loving basketball through his father, Olympiacos leading the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings, and the Sacramento Kings, among more topics.
