Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is expected to commit to Team USA for the Tokyo Olympics this summer, according to Shams Charania.
Durant has played a tremendous postseason with the Nets, spending 40 minutes on average on the floor and posting 34.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. Brooklyn eliminated Boston but fell to Milwaukee in Game 7.
The 32-year-old forward went out with a bang though, putting up a historic 48-point performance in the overtime clash in which he spent a total of 53 minutes on the court.
Team USA is slowly but surely building up its roster and it will be one of the best in recent history. Prior to Durant, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, and Draymond Green stated they are available for the Olympics.
Durant played for the national team three times and won gold in each stint. With him on the squad, Team USA won the 2010 World Cup in Turkey, as well as the 2012 and 2016 Olympics Games in London and Rio de Janerio.
