Pierre Oriola has been isolated at home as a precaution due to close contact with a person testing positive for coronavirus, the Spanish Basketball Federation announced Sunday.
Oriola, 28, had been in close contact with that person prior to the start of the Olympic Games training camp. He left the training camp on Saturday but will rejoin the national team in Madrid after he gets cleared, according to local health and safety regulations.
Following preparations, Spain will head to Tokyo to face host Japan, Argentina, and the winner of the Kaunas Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the preliminary round of the Olympic Games tournament.
Head coach Sergio Scariolo recently launched the training camp after naming 18 players to his squad, including the FC Barcelona big.
