Following Bradley Beal’s withdrawal from Team USA ahead of Tokyo’s Olympics, Kevin Love has also withdrawn from the squad, as ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Per Wojnarowski, Love is still recovering from a right calf injury that kept him out a significant part of the NBA season and now Team USA is working to replace both him and Beal ahead of Tokyo’s Olympics starting later in July.
Love shared a statement about his absence, via his agent, as also reported by Wojnarowski, in which he states:
“I am incredibly disappointed to not be heading to Tokyo with Team USA, but you need to be at absolute peak performance to compete at the Olympic level and I am just not there yet.”
