With the US not getting a medal for the second straight FIBA World Cup, the cavalry is coming for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
After Kevin Durant and Devin Booker stated that they are intending to be part of the roster, Steph Curry also confirmed his interest.
As he said in the media day of the Golden State Warriors: “I want to be playing. It’s the one thing I haven’t done … I definitely want to be there. I want to be on the team.”
Curry back in 2010 played limited minutes at the FIBA World Cup – then still named FIBA World Championship – as the United States won the gold medal in an undefeated tournament, led by Durant.
In 2014, he took on a larger role with the team, helping them to another undefeated tournament at the 2014 World Cup and scoring 10 points in the final game.
However, in the summer of 2016, Curry withdrew from consideration for the Rio Olympics, citing ankle and knee ailments as the major reason behind the decision.
So Olympic gold is still missing from his collection.
