After exiting the 2024 NBA Playoffs presented by Google Pixel, Franz Wagner talked about a busy summer, joining Germany in the 2024 Olympic Games. Limited to 1/15 from the field in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals best-of-seven series between the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers on the latest edition of NBA Sundays, the 22-year-old forward is determined to rest and recover.

“That is going to stick with me all summer,” he predicted during Monday’s exit interviews, referring to struggling in a do-or-die situation versus the Cavs in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

“I think the most important thing is getting in your mind right, get some energy back,” added the former player of ALBA Berlin on preparing for the Olympic Games.

Playing alongside brother and Magic teammate Moritz Wagner, they were among the key players for Germany capturing gold medals in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. “I am very excited,” said the 27-year-old big on the next international challenge.

“I am going to need a couple of weeks to decompress. Probably not going to touch a ball for a couple of weeks,” Mo shared offseason plans on the way to the training camp for the team coached by Gordon Herbert.

Goga Bitadze confirmed intentions to play for Georgia in the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament. His country will compete in Latvia in July for a ticket to Paris. A potential berth would place Georgia alongside Germany, France, and Japan in Group B of the preliminary round.
