Poland, Montenegro, and the Bahamas are set to face Greece in preparations for respective FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments

The series of friendly preparation games for the senior national team of Greece was revealed by the Hellenic Basketball Federation on Thursday.

The Acropolis Aegean International Basketball Tournament highlights the schedule for the team coached by Vassilis Spanoulis.

June 25: Greece – Montenegro
June 26: Montenegro – Bahamas
June 27: Bahamas – Greece

Before the three-team friendly tournament expected to feature multiple NBA players, Greece will also host Poland on June 21. On the roster, the Hellenic Basketball Federation will soon announce selections by Spanoulis.

The training camp, including the above prep games, leads into the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the Peace and Friendship Stadium. Greece will take on the Dominican Republic on July 3 and Egypt on July 4. Ranking first or second in Group B would clinch a berth to the Semifinals of the six-team tournament with Croatia, Slovenia, and New Zealand from Group A emerging as potential opponents.

The Bahamas, Montenegro, and Poland are also involved in Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. Montenegro is heading to Riga, battling Brazil, Cameroon, Georgia, Latvia, and the Philippines for a ticket to the Olympic Games. Poland and the Bahamas are lined up versus Angola, Finland, Lebanon, and Spain in Valencia.

On to the preliminary round of the Olympic Games, the winners of the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Greece and Spain will be placed in Group A alongside Australia and Canada. The winner of the tournament in Latvia joins host France, Japan, and Germany in Group B.
