George Papagiannis (12 points, six rebounds) and Dinos Mitoglou (10 points, 12 rebounds) led a quite balanced effort by the Greek team that was again without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo (fever). All 12 players of the squad scored and most of them played at least 15 minutes as coach Vassilis Spanoulis saw his guys contributing big on the defensive end.

Nikola Vucevic stood out from Montenegro with 20 points and 12 rebounds but had little help from his teammates. Greece overwhelmed Montenegro 23 – 12 in the first period and kept pushing to close halftime up 45 – 26. The hosts went on to take even a 32-point lead (79 – 47).

Montenegro will look to bounce back against the Bahamas on Wednesday (26/6). Greece is taking the day off and then will also face the Bahamas on Thursday, expecting to have Giannis on board.
