Vincent Poirier had a great season with Real Madrid, moved recently to Anadolu Efes, and started preparing with the French national team for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Unfortunately, the 30-year-old center suffered an injury that will see him miss the Olympics in his home country. As officially announced, Poirier injured his left ankle during a training session.
“On Friday, June 28th, during a training session, Vincent Poirier injured his left ankle. The French national team’s medical staff attended to him, and the center underwent tests on Saturday morning. These tests confirmed that he would need to take a break for a period incompatible with resuming preparation and participating in the Olympic Games,” as stated by Team France.
