Slovenia finalizes 12-man roster for Olympic Qualifiers

The Slovenian Basketball Federation announced the 12 players that will participate in the upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament that will be held in Piraeus, Greece from July 2 to 7.

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic headlines the list that also includes veterans Klemen Prepelic and Zoran Dragic as well as Vlatko Cancar in his return to action after missing last season due to injury. American-born Josh Nebo of Olimpia Milano will debut with the Slovenian team as naturalized player, replacing free-agent big man Mike Tobey.

The 12-man squad is as follows: Luka Doncic, Aleksej Nikolić, Klemen Prepelič, Edo Murić, Josh Nebo, Gregor Hrovat, Miha Cerkvenik, Luka Ščuka, Žiga Dimec, Zoran Dragić, Vlatko Čančar and Leon Stergar.

Slovenia will compete in Group A of the Piraeus tournament, facing Croatia and New Zealand. Host Greece, the Dominican Republic and Egypt square off in Group B.

The top two teams will advance to the semifinal knockout stage from which the Final matchup will emerge. The tournament winner gets a ticket for the Paris Olympics.
