Kawhi Leonard was ready for his first-ever summer representing his country at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, enforcing a stacked 12-man roster under head coach Steve Kerr.
Instead, it’s now official that the Los Angeles Clippers superstar will miss the action in France at the end of July, where USA Basketball will face Serbia, South Sudan, and Puerto Rico in Group C.
According to The Athletic, he’s set to be replaced by Boston Celtics‘ Derrick White.
The United States is eager to make a statement this summer after a disappointing campaign last year at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, where they lost to Canada and finished one step off the podium.
